They\u2019re also Chinese New Retail giants<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>What is New Retail? It\u2019s a consumer-centric, data-driven approach\nthat merges online and offline interactions as well as elements of traditional\nretail, social media and entertainment in the shopping experience. It not only\nimproves shopping for customers but also saves retailers time and money as\nlogistics and supply chains behind the scenes are also optimized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All three companies are rapidly expanding their reach\nwith internationalization plans, setting their sights on serving consumers and\nbusinesses globally. Within a week, according to Tmall Global\nstatistics, they received over <a href=\"https:\/\/36kr.com\/newsflashes\/175108\">300 applications<\/a> from all over the world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>\u201cAs the global market merges, each country\u2019s e-commerce will increase its acquisition and expansion speeds. Buying from global companies and selling to global companies will eventually become normal.\u201d \u2014 Qian Fangli<\/em>, <em>director of the Ministry of Commerce\u2019s Department of Electronic Commerce and Information Technology<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why are international brands\ncooperating with China\u2019s tech giants?<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s nearly impossible to go it alone when doing <a href=\"https:\/\/daxueconsulting.com\/new-retail-in-china-daxue-consulting\/\">New Retail<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/daxueconsulting.com\/new-retail-in-china-daxue-consulting\/\"> in China<\/a>. Data and its collection, which New Retail\ndepends on, is mainly in the hands of technology giants such as Alibaba,\nJD.com, Tencent and some <a href=\"https:\/\/daxueconsulting.com\/e-commerce-platforms-in-china-sunning-pinduoduo\/\">smaller e-commerce<\/a> platforms such as <a href=\"https:\/\/daxueconsulting.com\/latest-facts-and-insights-about-xiaohongshu-2019\/\">RED<\/a>, Pinduoduo and others. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ella Kidron, International\nCommunications Senior Manager at JD.com, says that the Chinese New\nRetail giant \u201chas a vast amount of insight into consumer behavior and consumer\npreferences. We open up these resources to our brand partners. Brands can have\naccess to a range of marketing resources.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These marketing resources enable brands to analyze their customers\u2019\npreferences and customize products to boost their sales. This is one of the\nreasons why more and more brands are joining Chinese commerce platforms and\nembracing China\u2019s tech giants. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What does a New Retail partnership between an international brand\nand a local player in China look like? In different industries and enterprises, it has different business models. You will only do well in New Retail when you understand what your customers want. \u201d&nbsp; \u2014 Jalin Wu, the CMO of Uniqlo in Greater China<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What role does social media play in Chinese New Retail?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When Jack Ma introduced the term New Retail in 2016, he envisioned a\nconsumer-centered model that somewhat reversed traditional B2C business models.\nBut many brands aren\u2019t prepared for these changes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A customer-oriented model needs constant user feedback and\ncomprehensive data to help brands make decisions and update their products and\nservices. Social media and other communities can also be a good source for this\nfeedback and help brands understand and engage with their customers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/m.winshang.com\/news655944.html\">One Zone<\/a> is a new Chinese retailer that specializes in home and lifestyle\nitems, health and beauty products, digital accessories, snack foods and a\nvariety of other consumer goods. It\u2019s famous for its New Retail strategies.\nLet\u2019s take a look at some of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In its physical store in Shanghai, there\u2019s a QR code at the cashier and people are encouraged to scan it and join the store\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/daxueconsulting.com\/wechat-marketing\/\">WeChat<\/a> member group to get coupons and other benefits. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They also have a WeChat mini program that provides a service called\n\u201cNo.1 House Manager\u201d. It\u2019s similar to Amazon\u2019s now discontinued Dash service\nand helps customers to refill their One Zone products like towels, toothbrushes\nand slippers regularly. Once subscribed to the service, One Zone periodically\nsends products to the subscriber\u2019s home. Customers not only enjoy the service\nbut also build a relationship with and a loyalty to the brand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Social media is one of the keys to winning in the New Retail era.\nIt\u2019s also clear that social media and e-commerce will become ever more\nintertwined in the future.
